It’s Monday! What are you reading?

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme, hosted by Kathryn @ The Book Date.

It is a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself.

Since I have many books going on at the same time, I thought it’d be fun to see how many I am able to finish in a week’s time.

I have just finished P.M. Hubbard’s A Rooted Sorrow which unfortunately did not live up to my expectations.

Right now I am reading:

LOS ALAMOS by Joseph Kanon

I picked up this book because I was interested in a murder mystery set in Los Alamos even as the scientists work overtime to create the most destructive weapon ever. However, rather than solving the mystery, our investigator seems to be interested in the wife of a scientist and that has dampned my interest in the book. I am plodding through it.

DEATH BY REQUEST by Romilly and Katherine John

A country-house mystery where murder has already occured and our Watson, a parson who is friend of the master of the house, is narrating the story. Perhaps it is because of the fact that few of the characters are really interesting that has made me go through it slowly but I hope to finish it this week.

BLACK BEADLE by E.C.R. Lorac

quite a cover!

I am a couple of chapters down this mystery which till now seems interesting, set as it is just before the second world war, and reflecting the tensions of its time.

…AND PRESUMED DEAD by Lucille Fletcher

When I asked for recommendations after reading my first Fletcher, this one was recommended by all. And it certainly has me intrigued.

DAPHNE by Justine Picardie

Have just begun this book as I am participating in the Daphne Du Maurier Reading Week, hosted @ Heavenali. Too early to say anything about it.
