Book Blogger Appreciation Week

Book Blogger Appreciation Week is a 7 day long celebration of book blogs and bloggers. Each day a new topic is posted for you to comment on. There are also giveaways, guest posts, awards etc.

Today’s Topic
Community
While the awards are a fun part of BBAW, they can never accurately represent the depth and breadth of diversity in the book blogging community. Today you are encouraged to highlight a couple of bloggers that have made book blogging a unique experience for you. They can be your mentors, a blogger that encouraged you to try a different kind of book, opened your eyes to a new issue, made you laugh when you needed it, or left the first comment you ever got on your blog. Stay positive and give back to the people who make the community work for you!

Well, Book Blogging became fun for me the day I discovered Yvette’s blog, in so many words… I was totally a novice at that time and didn’t even have an idea of how to follow a blog! So I’d go to google, type the blog’s name and then reach her blog. And it was always rewarding. It still is the blog I frequent the most. Yvette encouraged me tremendously not only by replying to my comments and by leaving comments of her own but also by becoming the first follower of my blog. So thanks a lot Yvette. Without you I would not be enjoying this so much.

Believe me, if you are not following her blog, you are missing something. See for yourself at:

A link in Yvette’s blog led me to Bev’s MY READER’S BLOCK. And am I glad! Bev is a Reading Challenge Addict [and proud of it 🙂 ] She also hosts challenges of her own. If you are game, you can still join her vintage mystery or color-coded challenges. Bev astounds me by how much she reads and blogs. And she has a knack of picking up vintage mysteries from Used Book Shops :). Check out her blog at:

For questions related to reading, no one can beat Deborah at The Book Stop. I enjoy her posts because often they make me reflect and think about my own response to books.

A blog that is tremendously helpful to those always on the look-out for a new challenge is A Novel Challenge. The original owners of the site have graciously handed over the blog to others as they have other commitments. Hats off to The Book Vixen for taking the show forward and not letting it die. http://novelchallenges.blogspot.com/

Last but not the least is John’s Pretty Sinister Books. If you like reading (about) out of print/ vintage mysteries than you’ll fall in love with John blog. His way of writing is also enthralling in itself. Over here:

There are many other blogs that I follow and love. Thanks to all for making this such a pleasurable experience.
